We are a hands-on investor taking leading positions and understanding the balance between finance, commercial assets and people.

For almost twenty years, the partners of Aravis have invested in innovative and scalable high-tech companies and have deployed over USD 400 million through four funds. All four Aravis partners have very international and complementary backgrounds and have used their technological know-how to scale a company from cradle to exit. Our purpose is to add more value than just money, we strive to support and guide entrepreneurs in pursuit of their visions..

Aravis Growth is a new initiative. With a strong focus on growth funding in Switzerland we will build a portfolio in the sectors of Biotech, Creative and Digital as well as Industrial High Tech. Aravis SA was founded in 2001 by Jean-Philippe Tripet after a successful international career at UBS and Lombard Odier.

Jean-Philippe Tripet

During his career, Jean-Philippe has led and supervised over 100 investments in private companies worldwide.He has been active in Private Equity since 1994.

He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Swiss Entrepreneurs Foundation. He is also a member of the Advisory committee on Digital Transformation for the Swiss Government.

Prior to founding Aravis, he was a Senior Executive Vice-President and member of the Group Executive Committee at Lombard Odier & Cie, Geneva. Before that, he was vice-President, Equity Research at UBS in Zurich and London.

He has a degree in business administration from the University of Geneva, did graduate studies in finance in San Diego, California and is a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1993. He lectures at the University of Lugano.(USI)

Claudia Zimmermann

Claudia Zimmermann is also the founder and CEO of C-Advisory GmbH, an advisory firm to support sustainable growth for companies. She is on the BoD of ADEV Energiegenossenschaft, Vice President of the Board of ADEV Wasserkraftwerke AG and a Juror of Venture.ch.

Before founding C-Advisory, she was the CFO of the Noser Group, an internationally operating Swiss-based ICT-Group. She gathered profound experience as a consultant with PwC Valuation & Strategy in Infrastructure, Utilities & Transportation and the Public Sector (e.g. PPPs). Claudia started her career with industrial companies (Rieter, ABB) and worked or studied in various countries around the globe.

She holds a degree as Economist SEBA, is a CFA-Charterholder and holds a CAS Applied History of the University of Zurich. She attended Executive Programs at Harvard Business School, IMD and various expert seminars.

Léna Tripet

Analyst

Léna Tripet was a Risk and Insurance Management trainee at Gategroup and Symetis SA, where she did data analysis and developed key performance indicators.

She holds a Masters degree in International Finance Management at the Hochschule Luzern and a Bachelors degree from ZHAW, School of Management and Law. She did a one year student exchange study at Montreal University in Quebec.

She is also a Young SECA member and coaches at Venturelab.

Simon Nebel

Simon Nebel has participated in the financing in a number of life science companies and the M&A transactions for Aravis portfolio companies. He was a co-founder of Aravis Energy I LP, the first Swiss Limited Partnership focused on renewable energy. Simon has been board member or observer in fourteen companies and is currently board member of SynAffix (NL), MarinoMed (AT), Bird Rock Bio (La Jolla/USA)) and BioSilu Healthcare (DE).

Before joining Aravis, he was a group strategist at UBS (London, Basel and Zurich), where he coordinated and worked on business planning and modelling, including developing a Biotechnology Venture Capital proposal for UBS Capital.

He holds a PhD in Biophysics from the Biocentre of the University of Basel (1996) and an MBA with distinction from the London Business School (2001).

The administration team has built a reliable accounting, investment valuation, compliance, reporting and administrative experience. Since 2008, we have successfully received approval for 4 different partnerships. This collective expertise forms a platform that Aravis offers to external partners.
